CITYWIDE UPDATE-New Yorkers Aged 50+ Eligible for Vaccine Starting Tuesday; Cluster Zone Lifted.
The remaining "yellow" cluster zone in NYC are lifted as of today. These were zones previously established additional restrictions in parts of the Bronx, Queens, and Washington Heights in Manhattan. Residential gatherings are still limited to 10 people indoors, but outdoor gatherings at homes will be allowed to host up to 25 people per the state's news rules. Social gatherings at indoor public spaces will be permitted to 100 people or less, which is up from the previous limit of 50. Outdoor events will be capped off at the 200 people mark.
Officials are warning that COVID-19 cases are rising in majority of the states. Health officials are continuing to urge residents to stay cautious and continue to abide by safety measures that are in place.
State officials have announced that March 23rd will be the starting date for New Yorkers above 50 years of age to get vaccinated. Residents in the age group will be able to make an appointment beginning on Mach 23rd, (tomorrow) morning at 8 AM
